Career Counseling in San Francisco

Supportive and grounded therapy to help teens manage big emotions, build confidence, and navigate life more easily.

Adolescent therapy creates a space where teens can slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what’s going on inside and around them. I work collaboratively—with the teen and, when helpful, their caregivers—to understand emotional patterns, stress responses, and relationship dynamics. Sessions might focus on mood swings, school pressure, identity questions, family tension, or just figuring out how to feel okay. I use body-based tools to help regulate strong emotions, along with honest, direct conversation that respects teens’ intelligence and autonomy. Over time, therapy helps build emotional clarity, stronger communication, and a steadier sense of self.

Why Adolescents Work With Me

In-Person and Virtual Therapy

I offer the flexibility to meet in person at our beautiful San Francisco office, located in Cow Hollow, or virtually for clients anywhere in California.

Somatic Therapy

Sessions include breath cues, posture tracking, and gentle movement to shift states when words alone stall progress.

Limited Availability

I only accept a few couples per month. I work best when I have a few clients, and have the capacity to go deep with each. Couples that work with me get my full attention.

Couples Therapy FAQs

  • Maybe you’re feeling trapped in the same fight, talking past each other, or missing the closeness you once had. When trust is broken or resentment lingers, these are gentle signs your relationship needs care. Counseling offers a safe place to mend and reconnect.

  • It’s common for there to be resistance, skepticism, fear, etc. and all of that is welcome in sessions. I offer a complimentary 30-minute discovery call where each partner can ask questions and explore whether therapy is a fit with no commitment required. I also offer individual therapy and would be happy to work with you 1:1.

  • Make sure that the logistics work (fee, insurance, location, and scheduling). Beyond that, you want to make sure it feels like a good fit. Think of questions ahead of time that you’d like to ask a prospective therapist. I recommend speaking to a few therapists to get a feel for who you’d connect with.

  • Version 1
Past experiences often reflect a mismatch in approach or timing. This time, we’ll identify what wasn’t helpful before and tailor the process to fit your goals, communication style, and readiness.

    Version 2
Counseling works best when there’s a strong therapeutic fit and a clear focus. If your last experience fell short, we’ll explore why and do things differently to create a more productive and respectful space.

    Version 3
Not all counseling is the same. Different therapists, methods, and timing can lead to very different results. We’ll build a plan that addresses your concerns directly and works with how you actually relate.

  • Absolutely! Couples counseling is an effective tool for any relationship in your life that you’d like to improve upon. I work with friends, co-founders, siblings, and parents and children.

  • All couples therapy sessions are 75 minutes long. I will support you in mapping out your most challenging dynamics, and through a combination of talk therapy and somatic techniques we will work to slow down the dynamic and discover different ways of understanding and relating to the other person.

  • Therapy is most successful when both partners are committed to doing work both in and out of sessions. While I can’t promise a timeline, I can work with you to clarify goals and ensure everyone feels good about the progress that’s being made toward achieving that goal.

Hi, I’m Mikayla.
