Individual Therapy in San Francisco, CA
Practical and holistic therapy to help you understand yourself, manage stress, and make meaningful change.
Individual therapy gives you a focused space to explore what's not working and why. We'll clarify patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships, and build practical tools to shift them. I’ll help you tune into your body’s cues, regulate intense emotions, and identify core beliefs that may be holding you back. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what you need, therapy helps you slow down, hear yourself clearly, and make choices that align with your values. Over time, sessions help you feel more stable, connected, and in charge of your life.
Many of my clients struggle with:
Chronic Stress
You feel constantly on edge, tired, and unable to truly rest—even during downtime—because demands never stop.
Anxiety & Overthinking:
Your mind races with what-ifs, comparisons, or self-doubt, making it hard to show up how you want to and trust your choices.
Burnout & Dissociation
You’re exhausted, disconnected from joy or energy, and feel numb or detached from yourself.
Life Transitions
A breakup, move, job change, or loss has unraveled your sense of footing, and you’re trying to regroup.
Workplace Stress and Disconnection
You feel drained, uninspired, or caught in unhealthy dynamics that make it hard to focus, contribute, or enjoy the work you do.
Low Self-Worth
You doubt your value, feel like you don’t belong or matter, and struggle to stand in your own worth.
Grief and Loss
You feel weighed down by sadness and unsure how to move forward or make sense of life after what’s changed.
Identity & Belonging
You feel different, out of place, or unsettled, and want to feel more grounded in who you are and where you fit.
Emotional Reactivity
You find yourself shutting down, erupting, or getting tangled in emotion in ways that surprise or overwhelm you.
Loneliness or Missing Community
You feel unseen or disconnected—longing for a sense of belonging or a place to be known.

Individual Therapy FAQs
-
Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, relationship struggles, low self-worth, major life changes, trauma, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
-
You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If life feels off, old coping strategies aren’t working, and you keep finding yourself in the same loops, it may be time. Therapy can help you understand what’s driving these patterns allowing you to build new ways to connect with yourself and with others.
-
Make sure that the logistics work (fee, insurance, location, and scheduling).
Beyond that, you want to make sure it feels like a good fit—think ahead about questions to ask, speak to a few therapists, and choose someone you trust enough to be honest with. That trust is one of the strongest predictors of the depth and quality of work you’ll be able to do.
-
Sometimes therapy doesn’t work because the timing, approach, or therapist wasn’t the right fit. Your life circumstances and priorities may have shifted, and you may be more ready to engage in the process now. A different style of therapy, or a new therapist can change the experience entirely.
We’ll talk about your past experiences with therapy, what was missing, and see together if this approach feels like the right fit moving forward.
-
All individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes. We’ll start by identifying the patterns, situations, or relationships that feel most challenging right now. Using a mix of conversation and somatic techniques, we’ll slow things down so you can see what’s happening with more clarity. From there, we’ll explore new ways of relating to yourself, others, and the world so change becomes possible in both thought and action.
-
Many people report feeling better after 3-6 months, but it can sometimes take longer than that depending on what you are looking for support with.
While I can’t promise a timeline, I can work with you to clarify goals and ensure you feel good about the progress that’s being made toward achieving your goals.

Yes! Even after being in therapy for a long time nerves can still show up. The goal of therapy is to look at hard things, and to allow yourself to really see them and feel them. It’s common to feel nervous, afraid, skeptical, apprehensive, and much more. I work with my clients to make sure that they’re feeling challenged, but not overwhelmed. Each client dictates their own pace of work.
-
That’s completely normal. It’s my job to help guide the conversation and create space for you to figure out what matters most.

Yes, with a few legal exceptions related to safety. I’ll explain exactly how confidentiality works in our first session.
