Marriage and Couples Therapy in San Francisco, California.
Practical and holistic therapy to help couples break conflict cycles, rebuild trust, and feel close again.
Couples therapy gives partners a structured way to move from repeated conflict to joyful partnership.
I will listen without taking sides and map the loop that keeps you stuck. You’ll practice clear and honest communication, deep listening, and simple body calming tools that tame rising emotion. Sessions reveal hidden expectations, unspoken hurts, and unmet needs that drive distance and arguing.
With each session you replace blame with shared problem solving, rebuild trust through small wins, and create space for warmth and intimacy to grow again.
Your situation can change.
I Help Couples With:
Communication Breakdowns: You feel misunderstood, talk in circles, or avoid hard conversations because they always lead to conflict.
Frequent Fighting: Arguments feel repetitive, unresolved, or explosive. You want to break the cycle but don’t know how.
Feeling Distant or Disconnected: You’ve lost the emotional or physical closeness you used to have and want to feel like a team again.
Infidelity and Rebuilding Trust: You're dealing with the aftermath of cheating, secrecy, or broken agreements and want to heal or decide what’s next.
Different Emotional Needs: One of you pulls away, the other pushes for closeness—leaving both people hurt or frustrated.
Sexual Disconnect: You're navigating mismatched desire, a lack of intimacy, or difficulty talking about sex openly and without shame.
Parenting Strain: Raising kids together is testing your connection, your values, or your ability to feel like partners, not just co-parents.
Major Life Changes: Transitions like moving in, marriage, career shifts, or becoming parents have created stress or disconnection.
Emotional Reactivity: One or both of you gets overwhelmed, shuts down, or explodes during conflict—leading to yelling or walking on eggshells.
Fear of Separation or Divorce: You’re stuck in indecision, questioning whether to stay or leave, or trying to repair things before it’s too late.
Couples seek support for many different reasons. If you’re struggling with any of these common challenges, or are experiencing something else that you’d like support with, please reach out and set up a complimentary discovery call.

Couples Therapy FAQs
-
Maybe you’re feeling trapped in the same fight, talking past each other, or missing the closeness you once had. When trust is broken or resentment lingers, these are gentle signs your relationship needs care. Counseling offers a safe place to mend and reconnect.
-
It’s common for there to be resistance, skepticism, fear, etc. and all of that is welcome in sessions. I offer a complimentary 30-minute discovery call where each partner can ask questions and explore whether therapy is a fit with no commitment required. I also offer individual therapy and would be happy to work with you 1:1.
-
It’s part research part gut feeling. Make sure that the logistics work (fee, insurance, location, and scheduling). Beyond that, you want to make sure it feels like a good fit. Think of questions ahead of time that you’d like to ask a prospective therapist. Try meeting with a few therapists - you won’t know until you connect.
-
There may have been a mismatch in approach or timing. I’ll work with you to identify what wasn’t helpful before and tailor the process to fit your goals, communication style, and readiness.
-
Absolutely! Couples counseling is an effective tool for any relationship in your life that you’d like to improve upon. I work with friends, co-founders, siblings, and parents and children.
-
All couples therapy sessions are 75 minutes long. I will support you in mapping out your most challenging dynamics, and through a combination of talk therapy and somatic techniques we will work to slow down the dynamic and discover different ways of understanding and relating to the other person.
-
Therapy is most successful when both partners are committed to doing work both in and out of sessions.
Many people report feeling improvements in 3-6 months, but it may take longer for some couples.
While I can’t promise a timeline, I can work with you to clarify goals and ensure everyone feels good about the progress that’s being made toward achieving that goal.
-
I offer rates on a sliding scale. We will go over fees in your first consultation call.
I don’t take insurance, but I can provide you a superbills for our sessions and you may be able to get out-of-network reimbursements. Please reach out to your insurance company to check your benefits.
